A TEIN USA staff of 4, 2 Engineers and 2 mechanics were on-hand to provide technical support for all competitors using TEIN products. We had the capability to adjust suspension, adjust alignment, overhaul, and revalve trackside. Our engineers were also there to gather data on our products, suspension setups, and driver feedback to be used to improve upon our future products.
Crawford Performance captured 3rd place overall and 2nd place in Unlimited AWD with a time of 1:45.552. Comparing lap times from 2009 to 2008 Crawford was able to shave 1.5 seconds. This 2008 STi dubbed “Tony the Tiger” utilizes Super Racing Dampers which have been custom valved to match Crawford’s requests. TEIN is able to custom valve any of our coilovers to meet the needs of our customers, and this service is available to anyone. We are confident that this STi will get faster and we look forward to aiding in that effort in 2010. www.crawfordperformance.com
Evasive’s EVO 9 improved upon their Limited AWD time, and were able to break into the sub 1:50 with a 1:49.977. This put them on the podium with a 2nd place finish in the highly contested Limited AWD class (Evasive was only .2 seconds off from 1st place). With limited laps due to various issues the sub 1:50 time proves that this CT9A is ready to compete right out of the pits. Evasive is looking to regain their Limited AWD title which they have held the past two consecutive years. Keep an eye out for this EVO in 2010. www.evasivemotorsports.com
The Evasive Motorsports S2000 using the ultra exclusive Evasive Spec Super Racing Dampers (available only through Evasive Motorsports) set the new Street FR class record with a time of 1:56.762 This time secured them 1st place in the Street FR class, and top spot in the entire Street class. The record setting time is incredible considering the S2000 is still NA powered and beat out the big horsepower AWD cars. It is a true testament to total vehicle tuning, and proves you do not necessarily need monster power to be quick. Credit must also be given to their driver Robert Walker for an incredible lap. www.evasivemotorsports.com
Import Tuner magazine also campaigned their latest project vehicle which is a 2009 Nissan 370Z. Driven by Falken Drift program factory driver Tyler McQuarrie this 370Z was pushed beyond expectations to a 1:59.829. The sub 2 minute time was good enough for 3rd place in the Street FR class. Tuesdays practice was the first time this car ever been on track and the lap times consistently dropped with continuous tuning. Even chief editor Carter Jung and technical editor Scott Tsuneishi aided in the effort. (pretty awesome to see magazine editors jump the pit wall to refuel the car, adjust tire pressures, and make vehicle adjustments). The TEIN engineers and mechanics played pit crew throughout the two days along with staff from various sponsoring manufacturers in a team effort to see what one of the first tuned 370Z could do on the track. This car features TEIN Mono Flex coilovers which are available now through any TEIN Authorized Dealer. With more testing and additional downforce this car will only get faster. www.importtuner.com
