You can own TEIN's custom 2006 Volkswagen Golf V GTI. Built in 2006 by TEIN USA this GTI blends DTM and JDM. The goal for this vehicle was to be the ultimate street GTI. First the 2.0 FSI motor was completely stripped, and re-built with new internals. Custom forged Carrillo rods and JE pistons were utilized, then all parts were WPC treated and balanced for worry free boosting. An APR K04 turbo upgrade was used to increase power throughout the RPM band without turbo lag. Gases are expelled through a custom Fujitsubo exhaust system. The entire 6-speed transmission was fortified by having all internal parts WPC treated, and power is transferred to the ground via the Quaife differential. With more power on tap wider wheels were needed to maintain grip. Two sets of wheels were ordered from HD Wheels with 9" wide fronts and 10" wide rears. A Stoptech big brake kit was installed to improve decrease stopping distances on the track and street. A widebody kit was made to accommodate the massive wheels, which ended up being a 9 piece kit. Carbon fiber door skins, hood, hatch, grill, diffuser, and roof overlay were added to enhance the exterior. The majority of the GTI was sprayed with custom Pearl White paint only leaving certain areas in Carbon Fiber. The chassis was lightened, and then strengthened by a 6-point bolt-in roll cage. Being a street car attention was then turned to the interior yielding a comfort and sporty feeling. Bride Carbon Kevlar seats were used along with 3" Takata harnesses for safety. A complete light weight audio system was added, and a host of DEFI meters. The end result is an aggressive looking car with the power to back it up.
